Scotty Cameron Large Thread Putter Weights – Full Black (Pair)

Dial in the head weight and feel of your Scotty Cameron putter with a matched pair of precision aftermarket sole weights in a blackout finish.

Our aftermarket putter weights allow golfers and club builders to fine-tune head weight, swing weight, and overall balance without sending the putter out to a custom shop. Whether you're replacing a lost weight, compensating for a shaft or grip change, or building toward a specific swing weight target, swapping the sole weights is the simplest and most reversible way to change how a putter feels through the stroke.

These weights are machined to the large thread standard used across most modern Scotty Cameron models and install with a standard Scotty Cameron pin-style weight wrench. Every order ships as a matched pair — two weights of the same gram value — so both sides of the sole stay balanced.

Important — check your thread size before ordering. Scotty Cameron putters use two different weight threads that are not interchangeable. These are large thread weights. Remove one of your existing weights and compare it against the thread reference photo, and check the small thread exclusions below, before ordering.

Will NOT Fit — These Models Use the Small Thread

The following putters take a narrower small thread weight and are not compatible with this listing:

Series Models
Studio Select Fastback 1, Squareback 1 (2008)
Select Squareback, Fastback, Roundback (2014), Newport, M1, Mallet 1 (2016), Fastback 1.5 (2018), Fastback 2 (2018/19)
California Fastback (2014)
Cameron & Crown Select Mallet 1 (2017)

Note that Fastback and Squareback model fit depends on generation — the newer Studio Style, Super Select, Special Select, and Studio Select versions are large thread, while the earlier Select, Studio Select, and California versions listed above are small thread. The best way to verify fit is to confirm thread size by removing an existing weight before ordering.

Choosing Your Weight

Scotty Cameron's factory sole weight is determined largely by putter length — shorter putters use heavier weights to maintain head feel. Use the following as a starting point, then adjust to taste:

Putter Length Typical Pair Weight
36" 2 x 5g
35" 2 x 10g
34" 2 x 15g
33" 2 x 20g

Key Features

• Sold as a matched pair — two weights of the same gram value
• Machined to the large thread standard used on most modern Scotty Cameron putters
• Black chrome finish across the full weight for a stealth, blacked-out look
• Clear small thread exclusion list so you order the right thread the first time
• Ideal for shaft changes, grip changes, putter length changes, and custom builds
• Installs with a standard Scotty Cameron pin-style weight wrench
• Precision-machined for consistent fit and secure seating

A note on finish and materials. To reach each gram value within the same physical footprint, these weights are machined from different base metals depending on the weight selected — lighter options use less dense alloys, heavier options use denser ones. Plating behaves differently across those materials, and coating batches vary slightly from run to run. As a result, the exact shade and depth of the black finish can vary between gram values, between production batches, and from the finish shown in our product photos. Variation of this kind is normal for plated components and is not considered a defect.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my putter uses large thread or small thread weights?

Scotty Cameron has used two different weight threads over the years, and they look very similar at a glance. The only reliable way to tell is to remove one of the weights currently in your putter with a pin-style weight wrench and look at the threaded post. The large thread post is noticeably wider in diameter with coarser threads; the small thread post is narrower with finer threads.

These weights are large thread and will not thread into a small thread putter. Thread type can vary by model year even within the same putter series, so please check the fitment tables in the product description and verify against your actual weight rather than relying on the model name alone. If you are unsure, send us a photo of your existing weight before ordering and we will confirm it for you.

Do these fit and finish like the original Scotty Cameron factory weights?

Yes. These weights are precision-machined to match the factory large thread dimensions and seat flush in the sole pocket with no gaps or wobble. Installation feel is consistent with the OEM part and they use the same pin-style weight wrench.

These are aftermarket components manufactured by 704 Clubworks and are not produced by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Titleist or Scotty Cameron. Brand names are referenced solely to indicate fitment.

How many grams should I go up or down when changing my putter shaft or grip?

A general rule in club fitting is that every 2 grams of head weight change shifts swing weight by roughly one swing weight point. Because putter sole weights come in pairs, moving from a 10g pair to a 15g pair adds 10 grams of total head weight — about five swing weight points — so the jumps are larger than they look.

If you have installed a heavier aftermarket putter grip or a counterbalanced grip, stepping up to a heavier pair helps restore the head feel that the added butt weight takes away. If you have shortened the putter, a heavier pair can bring head feel back; if you have lengthened it, a lighter pair usually works better. Most fitters recommend changing one variable at a time and re-measuring on a swing weight scale between adjustments.

How many weights will I receive per order?

Each order quantity of 1 includes one matched pair — two (2) weights of the same gram value in your selected option. This is the correct quantity to reweight a single putter, since Scotty Cameron models take one weight per side of the sole.

Multiple weights, gram options, or finishes may appear in our listing photos to showcase the available range, demonstrate installation, or provide product context — but a single quantity at checkout means one pair will be shipped. If you need to weight more than one putter, adjust your quantity at checkout or add each gram option individually to your cart.

Are the listed weights exact, and what are the manufacturing tolerances?

Listed gram values refer to each individual weight, not the combined pair. A 10 Gram selection ships two 10-gram weights for 20 grams of total added head weight.

Due to standard manufacturing tolerances, the exact weight of each component may vary slightly from the listed gram value. Our target tolerance is ±0.5 grams, and in practice our components frequently exceed that standard — meaning real-world variance is often even tighter than our published tolerance.

For context, golf club heads from major manufacturers typically carry a tolerance of ±1–2 grams, and golf grips and shafts often have similar or larger variances. Our ±0.5g target is held to a higher standard than most of the components already in your bag.

These minor variations do not significantly impact performance and are well within accepted industry standards. Please review these tolerances before purchasing. By placing an order you acknowledge these variations as a normal part of precision manufacturing. If you have any questions before ordering, feel free to contact us.
